The Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookie
I joke you not! This recipe is a MUST try!! My family all loves a good classic Chocolate chip cookie, and I think it is fair to say, that we have tried a million different ones, and these ones are buttery, chewy and full of savory and sweet flavors… and we are all totally obsessed!! All my kids LOVE baking, and it has been fun to pull out recipes to let them try them. Well, we came across this one, and we have loved it so much, we have had it on repeat! haha! I posted this recipe awhile back on my Instagram stories, but I knew I needed to share it here on the blog so you could try it too!
ok, so here is the recipe…
3 c. all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 c. unsalted butter, room temperature
1 c. firmly packed light brown sugar
3/4 c. granulated sugar
2 large egg
2 tsp. Vanilla extract
4 cups Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips
Hang on to the end for the secret ingredient!!
PreHeat Oven to 350’F and butter or spray cooking sheets with non-stick spray.
I use my Kitchen Aide, and blend the sugars, butter, eggs and vanilla. Make sure the butter is room temperature, and to avoid flat cookies, make sure the butter isn’t melted. Once blended, I add in the salt, baking soda and flour. When done blending, use a wooden spoon and stir in the chocolate chips, just be careful not to over stir. If dough is warm, put in fridge to chill.
We like the cookies a little bigger at our house, so we scoop the dough into generous golf ball sized clumps, and place them on the cookie sheet. I can usually fit a dozen on our cookie sheets.
Bake the cookies for 8-10 minutes, or until golden around the edges. Now here is when the fun part happens…… keep reading……
Immediately after the cookies come out of the oven, lightly grind sea salt on the top, while they are still on the cookie sheet. I use this Himalayan Pink Sea Salt from Costco…. and it is so yummy, but also pretty!! 😉 Let the cookies cool and then enjoy!! The combination of the semi-sweet chocolate, the buttery cookie and the sea salt will send your taste buds over the top!! I usually double the recipe so I can share them with friends!
