Bedroom remodel/ Before and Afters

When we built our house, Cameron decided he wanted to do grey stripes in his room. We had this on his walls in our last house, and he wanted his new room to look just like his old one. However, It just never looked right to me in this new space, and the gray made his room feel really dark and cold. In addition to that, he has been growing so fast that he was completely outgrowing his twin bed….So for his Bday, we decided to get him a bigger bed and re-do his room. We did it all ourselves and Cam gave alot of input and I loved working on this project with him! It was so fun to watch it all come together!

His room BEFORE:First, we covered the stripes with shiplap paneling, 4’x8′ panelsSo grateful for a helpful hubby! He is super handy and I am so grateful that he is always willing to help me with my projects. haha! Also, my little ladies were super good helpers too! We bought a little paint gun at Home Depot that helped us so much with priming and painting this much shiplap.. Little miss LOVES to help! 😉 Even in assembling furniture. I always get so excited by a blank slate… We found this bed on Joss and Main and the bookcase and nightstand from RHteen. The finished product! YAY! I love the creativity of accessorizing and finding the right colors and textures. We took the picture above his bed when we were up the canyon taking pics for Cameron’s birthday in March, and it turned into my inspiration for the whole room. I framed it and put it above the bed because I just loved how it turned out. The sun hit my lens so beautifully that night!! Cameron Loves Kayaking and being in the mountains, so it fit perfectly. One of my other favorite finds was the custom print we had made by a company called The Night Sky.  They take the night your child was born and give you the way the sky looked that night from your location. Its so cool and I loved this and I knew Cameron would too. I found most of this at Target! 🙂My good friend, Nabby, helped me sew the window seat cushion and pillows! She is seriously one of the most talented people I know and I was so grateful to have her help with this project. And of coarse I couldn’t resist a couple pics of my little Rosie buddy helper.
